Laura Ingalls Wilder Legacy and Research Association Code of Conduct

The Laura Ingalls Wilder Legacy and Research Association (LIWLRA) promotes a friendly, informative and enjoyable experience. We believe that good conversation helps us all understand Laura Ingalls Wilder’s legacy better.

As a member, you understand and agree that you will not bully and/or harass other board members or association members in person or online on social media to:

• Abusive, defamatory, profane or obscene language or content;

• Fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading personal attacks on individuals or specific groups;

• Content or behavior that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or any other form of discrimination, at the sole discretion of LIWLRA

• Sexual content or behavior;

• Conduct or behavior encouragement of illegal, harmful or offensive activity;

• Content in violation of any intellectual property right of another person or entity;

• Content or behavior in violation of any law or regulation;

• Content or behavior for the purposes of promoting a competitor/a competitive product;

• Advertisements, commercial solicitations, spam or malicious software; 

• Content or behavior that relates to confidential or proprietary information;

• Content or behavior that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party;

• Content or behavior that violates and/or impersonates a member. 

Content or behavior determined to be inappropriate, in poor taste, or otherwise contrary to the purposes of the board, at the sole discretion of LIWLRA.

LIWLRA has the right (but not the obligation) to monitor all content and to reject or remove any inappropriate or offensive content and the right to block the user, at its discretion.

Consequences of Reported Unacceptable Behavior:

Upon receiving a report of unacceptable behavior, LIWLRA’s first priority will be the safety and security of our board members and participants. In order to preserve a safe environment, LIWLRA reserves the right to temporarily suspend or permanently terminate specific features available to anyone violating LIWLRA’s terms of use. LIWLRA also reserves the right to suspend or terminate the account of anyone in violation of these terms. If facts are in dispute, LIWLRA reserves the right to take the action most likely to maintain safety and security of all participants. A report of confirmed history of a participant’s prior unacceptable behavior can be used as the basis for a response under this policy. 

Violation of terms of use while attending LIWLRA official events can result in denied access to any further events or remove from membership and/or the board. Any person who is denied access to or whose access is terminated may request that LIWLRA review the matter after the event has concluded. However, LIWLRA’s action will be effective immediately and will continue until and unless LIWLRA issues a contrary decision.  

By attending any official LIWLRA event, you agree to adhere to the site’s terms of service and code of conduct.
